Grooming guide for UAE weather
Coat care between 45°C summers and air-conditioned homes: brushing rhythms, bathing frequency, and de-shedding that actually works.
Why UAE grooming is different
Constant air conditioning means many pets shed lightly year-round instead of seasonally. Combined with humidity outdoors, coats mat faster and skin can dry out. A short, regular routine beats occasional deep grooming.
The weekly rhythm
Brush short coats twice a week and long coats daily — five minutes is enough. Bathe every 3–4 weeks with a gentle pet shampoo; more often strips natural oils and worsens dryness. Always dry thoroughly, as damp undercoat in an air-conditioned room is a recipe for skin irritation.
For heavy shedders, a de-shedding tool once a week during coat-blow periods dramatically cuts the hair around your home.
Don't skip these
Nails monthly (you should not hear clicking on tile), ears weekly in floppy-eared breeds, and teeth a few times a week with pet toothpaste. Paw balm helps pads stressed by hot pavement.
